Samantha Ladwig

Samantha Ladwig is an essayist, book critic, and writing instructor based on a small island in the Salish Sea.

Her writing has been published by The Cut, Literary Hub, The Rumpus (forthcoming), Vulture, Real Simple, Bustle, and Vice, among many others. Since 2017, she has reviewed books for BUST magazine. She is currently at work on a memoir, which has recieved support from Tin House and Centrum.

Over the years, her work has provided her opportunities to attend the Academy Awards, Telluride Film Festival, AFI Fest, and the Seattle International Film Festival. She holds an MA in Archives and Records Management from Western Washington University and previously worked as a film cataloger at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences​.

A former indie bookstore owner, she continues to recommend books through her newsletter, Narrative Sea.
