Samantha Ladwig is a cataloguing librarian, essayist, and book critic based on a small island in the Salish Sea.

Her work has been published by The Cut, Literary Hub, The Rumpus, Vulture, Real Simple, Bustle, and Vice, among many others. Since 2017, she has been a book critic for BUST. With an MA in Archives and Records Management from Western Washington University, she previously worked as a film cataloguer in Los Angeles for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, and now works as a cataloguing librarian for a rural county public library. A 2024 and 2025 Centrum Artist Residency recipient and 2025 McCormack Writing Center Workshop alum (formerly Tin House Workshop), she is currently at work on a memoir.
