Samantha Ladwig is a public librarian, essayist, and book critic based on a small island in the Salish Sea.

Her work has been published by The Cut, Literary Hub, The Rumpus, Vulture, Real Simple, Bustle, and Vice, among many others. Since 2017, she has been a book critic for BUST. With an MA in Archives and Records Management from Western Washington University, she previously worked as a film cataloger for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, and now works as a rural county public librarian. She is currently at work on a memoir, which has received support from Tin House and Centrum.
