Samantha Ladwig is an essayist, writing instructor, and book reviewer based on a small island in the Salish Sea.
Her writing has been published by The Cut, Literary Hub, Vulture, Real Simple, Vice, Bustle, HuffPost, Vox, BUST, and Brevity, among many others. A former indie bookstore owner, she is currently at work on a memoir-in-essays, which has received support from Centrum and Tin House.
Over the years, her work has provided her opportunities to attend - and sometimes cover - the Academy Awards, Telluride Film Festival, AFI Fest, and the Seattle International Film Festival. She holds an MA in Archives and Records Management and previously worked as a film cataloger at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences as well as a film archivist at the University of Washington Libraries' Special Collections. She currently serves on the board of the Port Townsend Film Festival.
